What is Kindermusik?

Kindermusik is the world’s leading provider of music-based education for children from birth through age seven. Back to the training. How does it work?

You become an extension of Kindermusik through playful, interactive, and developmentally appropriate music and movement activities with your children. This all-inclusive curriculum kit provides tools that makes it easy for teachers to guide and participate in the activities, assess their students, and have a lot of fun.
Kindermusik lesson plans are intentional, developed using a tested and repeatable formula. The individual activities within each lesson, such as greetings, storytime, and instrument play, are strategically placed for maximum engagement. The establishment of repetition and rituals allows children to take comfort in knowing what’s coming, encouraging creative participation within the established framework.

A Kindermusik activity is perfect for small group time. It is also great for large group time. It can be done outside, at the park or even with another class. Lessons can be shortened as needed. Because of the flexibility and fun children have you can slot Kindermusik into many different aspects of your children’s day.

Where is the music, instruments and other details to be successful?

There are 4 main Kindermusik categories. They are divided by age group:

Ages 1 – 2

Ages 2 – 3

Ages 3 – 4

Ages 4 – 5

You can find all the curriculum documents, programs and other information on the Staff Drive. Under Kindermusik. Please ask a co-worker if you are not sure where that is and if you do not have a Staff Drive on your My Computer in Windows then please see admin.
As for music. That is found on your tablet. Just search for the activity you are going to implement and search for it in the music program in your classroom tablet. Again ask a co-worker to show you. Or if you are struggling with it please talk to someone in administration.

As an example: If you are in PK1 you know your children are ages 1-2 (roughly). So you would want Sing & Play. Your program planning should have already chosen the Kindermusik activity for that day. Let’s say it says Yum in the Sing & Play category. You would go on the Staff Drive and go into the Kindermusik Teacher Material folder then Ages 1-2 Sing n Play then Yum. In that folder you would find PDF files that are the guides and all the materials you need. You would see what instruments you need (if any) and make sure they are ready for your activity. Then follow the guide, play the music with your tablet and through your Bluetooth speaker in your room. That is it!
